There’s an old story going around about tapeworms and weight loss. The story goes that they actually placed dried up tapeworms in these diet pills in the early 1900’s. People were losing substantial amounts of weight, and they were amazed by all the results. But then they stopped taking the diet pills, and they couldn’t stop losing weight!
Well, in that fact, it’s true. Tapeworms basically eat all your nutrients, leaving you without having actually ingested the fat and otherwise. So you lose weight, you burn off fat because your body is eating it off, and otherwise. But at the same time, you really can’t miss it when you poo out tapeworms. They used to check it in school children in certain countries on a regular basis for that reason.
But as far as people losing weight with tapeworms, a diet pill being around for that, etc, there is actually no proof to substantiate that. There is no proof that those diet pills ever existed. However, there is one opera star who was known for eating raw red meats a lot, and when you do that on a regular basis or ever, you do take the risk of getting tapeworms. So have people lost weight with tapeworms? Certainly. People who have tapeworms lose weight, and likewise that opera singer reported about probably did have tapeworms when she literally lost over 100 pounds in a short period of time. Carbs are a great thing. I personally love carbs, and while there are good and bad carbs alike, I love both. Unfortunately, there has been a lot of recent focus on cutting out carbs to lose weight, and frankly you can focus on losing weight while eating carbs. Most just don’t pay attention to it. Basically cutting out that major food group is not really a good idea anyway, it’s flat out unhealthy and they usually allow you to eat many fatty foods that are never actually good for you and ultimately cause heart disease among other things.
However, including carbs in your diet is a healthier thing than you might think. I am all about cutting about bad carbs. Actually bad carbs like white bread, white rice, and otherwise really have no greater value. They don’t have any nutrients usually or anything else, and bad carbs also include candy, which obviously…..
But if you use good carbs in your diet, it can be a different story. The easiest way I’ve found in losing weight while eating carbs was actually to go vegetarian. As long as you make sure to use a balanced diet and otherwise, you should be fine. This allows you to eat more carbs. But you should remember to keep it to good carbs such as whole grains, fruits, and vegetables, not candy, white bread, and white rice among other things.
There are ways to easily lose weight while eating carbs. However, it is all about balance. You have to achieve greater balance in your own life, and ultimately speaking, you have to remember the basic rules of things. Most people have a downfall because they don’t differentiate between good and bad carbs. But obviously, you can.

Now I have a friend who is a health freak. I say not nut, but freak. She worked at a local health food store for a couple years, getting paid minimum wage and still doing it in college, because she got a 5% discount. That’s a rip off! I got better discounts at a cheap clothing store for heaven sake. But anyway, she was really into juicing for a while. It wasn’t just for weight loss or cleansing, she just liked the idea of maintaining better health by buying a juicer that literally would’ve cost her $800. It seems a bit ridiculous to me to say the least. Granted, basically speaking it’s a good idea.
You make your own real juice and sometimes smoothies, and you know exactly what’s going into it. Hopefully you’re not adding more sugar, you’re getting vitamins and minerals, and well it’s all around a good thing. You can even combine certain fruits and vegetables to get more specialized results. This being said, using it for a cleanse is not a bad thing. You can definitely use a good cup of juice per day and use it for cleansing all the time for about a week. But she went to the extreme of only drinking juice on a long term basis to lose weight. It wasn’t healthy, and it really didn’t last, it wasn’t sustainable at all. We all tried to tell her this. But the fact that she was losing pounds and inches made her keep going. But gaining it back later was the hard part when we didn’t really have the vindictiveness to tell her I told you so.

My parents always sent me to school with money for school lunches. My mom was always working, and realistically speaking it would have been a bad story if she hadn’t, even when we were young. But this meant that she really didn’t pack the nice little homemade lunches a lot, and that was fine. But if you consider the facts, school lunches are now required to have certain nutritional requirements. That is great, and they pay somebody hundreds of thousands of dollars each year just to figure that out. The problem is that they are lacking.
I mean if you consider the fact that since this institution has been in place, kids have been able to get a box full of fries as their entire lunch or even a burger and fries, and that apparently fulfills the nutritional requirements, you have to wonder what these nutritional requirements are! I mean it’s one thing for fast food restaurants like McDonalds to cater to kids and advertise towards them. But when they are actually putting little things in schools for school lunch, I really have to wonder what the nutritional requirements are, and people wonder why so many Americans are reaching new levels of obesity. School lunches are said to be a substantial part of the average school age kid’s diet, and quite frankly well they don’t really take great care in that fact.
