Alli

Alli is the only FDA approved over the counter diet pill in America. Its main ingredient is used in prescription Xenical, and Alli uses a lower dose. They claim it will help you to achieve a general lifestyle change for greater health. But interestingly enough, they don’t show testimonials with people who actually lost weight.

Ingredients: Orlistat

Effectiveness: Alli works as a fat blocker, which functions in various ways. However, users generally lose 5-10% of their body weight, not necessarily in fat, in the space of a year. For a 200 pound person, that’s 10-20 pounds per year or about 0.38 pounds per week if you happen to be one of the lucky ones that loses 10%, when you should lose 2 pounds per week with diet and exercise. Users of Alli also generally gain the weight back once they stop using it.

Side effects: Recently, the FDA has started an investigation into Alli and Orlistat in general to determine if Alli could actually cause severe liver damage in users. However, Alli is well known to cause gas, diarrhea, stomach pain, oily spotting, and various other problems. However, you should stop immediately should you experience kidney stones, severe stomach pain, or allergic reactions.
